I hope everyone had a great holiday and is ready to kick 2023’s ass!
As for me I’m sure you all have questions and I hope to answer them all in this email. If I miss anything please don’t hesitate to respond.
Firstly I want to apologize from the bottom of my hear for missing yet another release I promised. Captive of Desire was indeed set to release in December but my children needed me.
That’s it. It’s that simple. I’ve been going hard for the last few months. Releasing and publishing books as regularly as I could since my life pretty much fell apart last year. I thought my kids were doing alright, but last month I discovered otherwise. My youngest was dealing with a pretty sever bullying problem at school and my oldest was trying desperately to deal with her own depression and anxiety on her own. Both of them told me that they “didn’t want to bother me with” there issues because they knew I was struggling with my own demons.
After a lot of tears and very lengthy conversation as a family , we’re in a better place. However there are going to be some major changes happening in the world of Alexa Jordan and I hope you all decided to stay along for the ride.
The biggest one being less releases. I want to make sure I have enough time to devote to my family, giving them 100% of my attention during the times when I’m not writing. Meaning what exactly? Well I will only have two or three releases per year. My books will be longer (which also includes a slightly increase in price) but still be available in KU. I will also not be putting up books on preorder until they are written to ensure I’m not disappointing anyone else because of the radical changes that are happening in my life daily. If you want to keep up with the things going on and what’s coming out this is the best place to be!
My social media presence will also be almost non existent. After doing A LOT of soul searching I’ve found that social media is toxic for me and damages my creativity. It also affect my mental health in a way I’m not proud of. So moving forward, I’ve given myself permission to stop doing it. Yes I still have my Facebook author page and Instagram account where I’ll be sharing things, but I’ll be limiting my time on the social media platforms for the foreseeable future.
Don’t worry I’m not going anywhere! You still have amazing stories coming your way.
